Mary E. Burlie was an extremely selfless woman, who was devoted to her children and community. She moved to Edmonton in 1969 and joined the Boyle Street Community Centre, becoming one of their first volunteers and lending a helping hand for 26 year, becoming a Boyle Street legend and changing the lives of countless people along the way.

Mary had such a huge impact in her community that people started calling her the "Black Angel of Boyle Street" becoming known for her willingness to help out as much people as she could. Her legacy of compassion and concern for everyone she came across compels us to keep her work alive and be a factor of positive change for the community.

Autumn Burlie

Gone too soon. Untreated trauma is a life interrupted. Autumn Burlie was a young woman who lived life to its fullest. She had a big heart and cared so much about her loved ones. Autumn was deeply loved as a mother, daughter & sister. She was born on October 28, 1999 and passed away from drug poisoning on July 15, 2021. Autumn had always remained hopeful for a brighter future for herself and her son.

While she was not able to reach her goal of reunifying with her son we see this as an opportunity to bring honor to her. May Autumn's name be a beacon of hope to women who have experienced great trauma in life. It is of utmost importance to the family and friends that Autumn's story is not forgotten and the opportunity is not wasted. Now is the time to honor Autumn and carry on the legacy of Mary Burlie!
